it’s all around

Some days when I am working on a new designs – especially a new logo – I need to get out and get inspired.  I know that different designers do this differently.  Some of us look online at what other designers have done, some turn to fashion, some turn to home decor, etc.  No matter where you get your inspiration… it is just that… You get inspired.

Here are a few previous posts where I have written about getting inspired!

By color, antiques, other creative people, and color palettes.

When I was designing my own logo I was really paying attention to wedding color palettes.  I was visiting The Perfect Palette’s blog almost every day to get inspiration.  Keep in mind, at this time most of my clients were brides… I had a full time job so I was doing a lot of wedding invitations and calligraphy.  You can see below some images I pulled and still have on my inspiration board for my brand and colors.

This was really before pinterest was a “hit”,  but today I have a red and teal board to help me keep inspired with my colors!

This past week I was working on a new brand and really needed so new creative juices.  I decided to get out and go for a walk around my neighborhood.  See what all was out there to give me new direction!  I just love what I found!  *note, some images are from vacation last weekend in Charleston, but they were too good to not include!

Just remember to look around, get inspired.  Design is everywhere!
